On December 11, 1991, QVC Network, Inc., the leading televised Home-shopping Retailer in the United States, purchased ten acres of land on Westover Hills Blvd. Their new 70,000 square foot Telemarketing Center was built there. Also optioned was an adjacent ten acres for future expansion. This new facility was completed in July of 1992 and, today, receives and processes 45% of all phone calls made by its customers. The official Grand Opening Ceremony was September 2, 1992. Westover Hills was highlighted as the "place to be" by all local and visiting dignitaries who attended. The San Antonio QVC facility was touted as achieving the best performance standard in the company, surpassing two of their other existing facilities.
