At the 27th Annual Pacific Coast Builders Conference held in San Francisco, California in August, 1987, Robert de Almeida and Charles Martin Wender won the prestigious Gold Nugget Grand Award in the category of "Best Commercial/Industrial or Mixed-Use Site Plan" for their Westover Hills Development in San Antonio, Texas. Gold Nugget awards recognize the most outstanding real estate projects in 14 Western states. The project, designed by Azeka de Almeida, eventually would include a resort hotel with championship golf courses, other hotels, retail and entertainment. Another major element of the plan is a 400 acre corporate business park for campus type office and business facilities.
